I just got your book in the mail and I haven't been able to put it
down. Shared it with my junior high physical education class too. The
next generation is learning about Tai and Randy!!! Thanks for taking
the time to write this book . Your words of truth still inspire me
today! My question is did you have a favorite part about the book?
Thanks, Lorie :-)

hi lorie... i am so glad you are enjoying the book, i am very proud of it:) i
can't really choose a favorite part but maybe the most revealing would be my
poetry.... i wasn't sure if i should include it but i think it showed a side
to me that not many people know. thanks for writing, tai

Hello Tai,
My friend's name is Tai Casagrande. She is named after you and she is awesome! She was going to be named Tatjana before the name was decided on. My question is if you hadn't been named Tai, what would your parents have named you?
- Jackhi jack.

.... my parents actually had nothing to do with my name, my godfather
who is japanesse gave me the name. love, tai

Dear Tai,

Hope you are enjoying your summer...but the board has been quiet so I
thought I would ask a question.Does it amaze you or overwhelm you when you think about all the lives
you have touched and the people you have inspired?
Thanks, Lorie

hi lorie....i am absolutely amazed and yes sometimes overwhelmed by the
response i get from fans, the perfect example was when randy and i had to
withdraw from the olympics in 1980 , the next morning we recieved over 10'000
telegrams, reading them really helped randy and i get through that tough
situation. i am very grateful:) love, tai

Hi Tai,
My name is John and I'm writing to you from New York. I grew up watching
you and Randy on the ice and you were my favorite figure skating pair. I
was just curious to know, are there any plans of you and Randy visiting New
York any time soon with a special event? I would so much love to see both
you and Randy skating together again. Let me know. *Also, if you don't
mind my asking, how old were you when you first starting skating, not
professionally, but when you first took an interest in ice skating
and began doing so, eventually leading to professionally? Looking forward
to hearing from you soon.John

Hi John..... thank you for the very nice compliment, i was just in New York
last month as a guest of figure skating in Harlem, i always have a blast when
I'm there. randy and i have no plans anytime soon t
o skate in n.y. but maybe
when our book comes out it will be one of the stops we make to promote it.
keep checking the website. also i started skating when i was six and randy
and i were paired together when i was 8 and he was 10. love, Tai

old son scout.

Hi Tai,
I have been following you and randy for a long time. I find it interesting
that you have such a connection with Stevie Nicks. Can you tell us, when was
the last time you saw her in concert or in person? And do you ever have any
plans to do something together. I read where she is going to be writing
something for your upcoming book.
Wow! - Thanks for you time!!! Brandon

hi brandon..... my son scout and i went to visit stevie at one her rehersals
for her last tour. stevie was gracious enough to take the time to write the
forward to the upcoming tai & randy coffee table book"forever two as one"
look for it soon to be sold on my website. love, tai

Dear Tai,
I have been a figure ice skating fan most of my life. I have met Tara Lipinski, Ilia Kulik, and Rosalyn Sumners. I also just e-mailed Dorothy Hamill-who first inspired me to skate. I am now 32, and have been in 2 ice shows, and 2 competitions, in which one that was the 2000 I.S.I. Adult Championships in Las Vegas, Nevada. I have also been a huge fan of Stevie Nicks all of my life. I have been to 2 of her concerts so far. For the I.S.I. competition, I decided to do one of my routines to Stevie Nicks (with a Black shawl)-I have never seen anyone do one to her music. I have been so surprised! My coach is wonderful-Lisa Ware-who is about my age, and with her help and my hard work, I got a Gold medal! (actually me & another girl tied) I will never forget it! I have seen you before also, and thought you were very pretty-you stood out! Also, I thought your name was beautiful!  I was wondering how you got to meet and know Stevie.(That's my question)  I would love to meet you and Stevie one day! (I also write lyrics)
Sincerely,
Kali Watson

dear Kali..... many people ask about my connection with stevie...... check
out the other 'ask tai' questions the answer is there. randy and i skated to
a stevie song years ago for a x-mas show in new york. the song was silent
night , a duet with robbie neville. love, tai

Hi Tai
With all the years you and Randy have been together was there ever a
funny moment or event that had the two of you just laughing??
Thanks,
Lorie Hirahara
Sunnyvale, Ca.

hi lorie..... randy and i are always laughing at something and those are the
moments i treasure, most of our silliness happens in airports and airplanes.
we both turn into 6 year olds for some reason. our relationship is something
i can't explain and will never try to figure it out...... it is way to
complicated. love, tai

Hello Tai.
I was wondering If you and Randy ever regret never going to the Olympics in 1984 and trying one more time. I was also wondering If Randy is your best friend till this day?
Thank you. J

hi Jodi..... randy is my best friend and soul mate, even though we are such
complete opposites there is a closeness that even we can't explain and do not
try to analyze. we have been together for 34 years, right on!!!!!!! as for
competing in the 84 games, it was never a thought..... we were ready to go
pro. love, Tai

Hey Tai,
I was at the Lake Placid winter Olympics and I was sitting in the section
above Randy at the closing ceremonies. We saw some commotion below. It
looked like Randy. I called out his name and he turned and looked confirming
what I thought and so I went down and took a closeup picture of him and had
him sign my closing ceremonies program. I don't recall you being there
because I certainly would have wanted your autograph and picture most of
all. Why weren't you there?
John Dorsey
San Jose, Ca.

hi John......
yes i was there , just sitting in different seats.
love, Tai

Hi Tai,
Is your coach John Nicks Stevie Nicks's cousin????????
Thank you for answering my 1st question.
Tee

Hi Tee.....
Stevie is not related to coach John Nicks.
Tai

______________________________________________________

Hi Tia,
I was just reading the email & was wondering why you took off the necklace that Stevie Nicks gave to you.
Thank you Tee

Hi Rhiannon..... the reason that i took off the crescent moon the night randy
and I were to compete in Lake Placid(1980) was because our coach John Nicks
thought it may get caught in the rhinestones on my costume. Tai

Dear Tai,
I have been skating for 4 years , but I have only gotten to a low level.
I can not compete at competitions yet either. This makes me feel a bit
discouraged so at times I feel like quitting skating. How can I force
these out of my head? Your fellow Skater,
Kay Discouraged

hi Kay.... first of all 4 years is really not that long, many times i have
felt like quitting but in the end you have to remember why you started in the
first place, for the love of it.... right? everything happens for a reason,
keep working hard but don't forget to enjoy it and everything else will fall
into place. please stay in touch okay? Tai

I was wondering from where your name came. At birth, my parents
were going to name me Kellie, but then my dad saw you on a morning
television show (or perhaps it was on a skating competition) the day I
was born and liked your name so much I soon became a "Tai" as well!
I have only known of 2 other girls with the name, spelled this way.
I used to hate it because it was so different, and now I can't imagine having
another name!

Tai Duncan

When I was born my parents actually had an argument over what
they would name me, my godfather who was also at the hospital and who is
Japanese simply said how about the name "tai" which means beautiful in
Japanese, my parents really dug the name and went with that. i am honored
that your parents named you after me......very cool!!!!
love,Tai

Tai
I have admired you since I can remember , but seeing your photo now , I
have to say that you are very beautiful . Now , my question is this . Why did
you name your son Scout ? Just out of curiosity .

John Flores
Ontario , CA

Dear John..... my sons name scout came from my favorite book and film "to
kill a mockingbird" i have always loved that name..... love, Tai

How old were you when you started skating???????????????????

Jessica

Hi Jessica....... i started skating when i was six years old...... i was
paired with randy when i was eight.
love, Tai

Hi Tai.
I have been a big fan of yours and Randy's since I was a little girl. I am
also a huge fan of Stevie Nicks. I once read that Stevie gave you the
crescent moon necklace that you wear. I was wondering if that is true, and
if so how did you guys meet and how did she give you the necklace. This is a
question I have been wondering for a really long time. Any answer would be
greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Jodi Pellicano - Toms River, New Jersey

Dear Jodi...... so many people are curious about my crescent moon, i came in
contact with Stevie for the first time in the summer of '79, i think she
happened to be watching t.v. when randy and i won the world championships
that winter. Stevie had stopped by the ice rink in Santa Monica where we were
training and gave me the very special 24-karat gold crescent moon charm for
good luck at the upcoming Olympics in lake placid. i have only taken it off
once and that was the eve. randy and i were to compete in lake placid.....
well we all know what happened that night, needless to say that moon has not
left my neck since...... stevie inspires me in so many ways, she is as magical
in person as she is on t.v. love, tai

Martha Kimball, we are putting the final touches in it and it will be sold
